Welcome to Institute of the History of Charles University and Archive of Charles University, a university institute of Charles University in Prague.

The Institute focuses mainly on the history of Charles University, but also on history of education and schooling in the Czech lands in general.

It manages and cares for archive materials that record past and present activities of Charles University.

Currently, it is in charge of part of a research project ‘Czech University Education’, which belongs to a larger project called ‘Czech Lands in the Middle of Europe in the Past and Today’.
