The Institute of the History of Charles University and Archive of Charles University is a university institute of Charles University.

Its scientific activities focus on the history of Charles University and the history of schools and education in the Czech Lands.

According to Act No. 499/2004 Coll. Sb. on Archiving and Records Management and on the Amendment of Selected Acts, it is a public specialised archive. It keeps and manages mainly archival materials created in the course of activities of Charles University and supervises records management of all parts of Charles University.
